Super Bowl parties can lead to increases in DUIs

On Behalf of | Feb 2, 2017 | DUI |

For National League Football fans throughout the country, the wait is over. Sunday night a new Super Bowl champion will be crowned. Will it be Tom Brady and Bill Belechick’s record fifth victory with the New England Patriots, or the under-dog and far less villainous Atlanta Falcons, led by MVP-candidate Matt Ryan?

The Super Bowl is considered by many Americans to be almost like a major holiday. Millions throughout the United States, including most students from Penn. State, will be heading out somewhere to watch the game.

Unfortunately, some of those who go out to watch the game do not act responsibly, and may find themselves in a situation if they are caught with a DUI charge, or driving under the influence. Driving under the influence can lead to serious and life-changing consequences, even for a first time offender. Things will be far worse if you are involved in an accident while DUI, which causes a serious injury or even worse, death. Charges could range from vehicular assault, vehicular homicide and even felony DWI.

But if you do find yourself in the precarious position fighting a DUI charge, it is in your best interest to arm yourself with the best possible defense team to fight the charges. Having a strong team on your side could result in a favorable plea deal, a reduced sentence, and in some instances, depending on the situation and circumstances, even a dismissal. Your life and your future are too valuable to risk.
