New Jersey men hit with multiple criminal charges

Following two altercations at a State College residence, a 21-year-old man from Long Branch, New Jersey, has been charged with felony burglary and criminal trespass, as well as misdemeanor simple assault, criminal mischief - damage to property and recklessly endangering another person. His friend, a resident of Ocean, New Jersey, was charged with misdemeanor criminal mischief - damage to property.

The men had reportedly been visiting the residence for a few days, but started to lose their welcome over the course of their stay. When the two men went out to a bar, the residents decided to remove their belongings into one man's vehicle while they were out, along with a note stating that they were no longer welcome to stay. This did not go over well upon their return.

The two men allegedly knocked on the door and were told on the front porch that they were no longer welcome. Then one man allegedly punched the resident in the face, knocking him unconscious momentarily and causing a concussion, cut lip and minor injuries. He was treated at Mount Nittany Medical Center. But, the situation was not over. Later that evening, one of the men reportedly returned, damaging a back door while trying to get in, then breaking into the home through the resident's bedroom window.

Such serious crimes can come with significant penalties. One man is currently being held on bail set at $25,000. If found guilty, these crimes may result in a prison sentence, along with other penalties and even hurdles later in life. Those individuals who are facing criminal charges will likely be best served with a strong criminal defense strategy.
